Viscos Rug Cleaned and Restored

This is an 11×13 hand knotted contemporary rug made of 100% viscos fiber. When we inspected it, we were quite shocked/horrified at the condition of the rug, in fact the conditions listed by our CRS (Certified Rug Specialist) are as follows:

  • Out of shape
  • Discolored
  • Nap distorted
  • Yellow stains
  • Binding loose
  • Extremely soiled
  • Animal stains
  • Bleach stains
  • Furniture marks
  • Photo oxidation
  • Bad odor

Our team went to work on the rug with the hope of getting the rug back to 50 – 60% of its original condition. After 3 different attempts and one heck of a lot of TLC – most of the work by hand, you can see that we got the rug back to +90% of its original/new condition. We removed the nap distortion, staining, urine odor and the traffic patterns. I must say we even surprised ourselves!!

Other than great technicians, patience and a little luck, one of the key reasons this rug responded to the cleaning SO WELL was that it have been stain protected when it was new. We have found that the application of the highest quality stain and soil protection can make a really big difference. HERE IS THE PROOF.
