We were contacted by a good client of ours, who is a designer. This large 15 x 17-foot rug belonged to a client she was doing some designed work for. The client loved the rug but wasn’t happy with the colors in the rug and wanted to have them toned down, IF, it could be done.
We performed what is called a SILVER WASH where with the application of chemicals and 180-degree water we reduce the stronger background colors and try and produce an overall gray, muted appearance.
In this particular rug we were VERY SUCCESSFUL!! The client and the designer were thrilled. The Silver wash process is expensive but the cost to replace a perfectly great rug was going to be in excess of $15,000.00.
You know the saying, “don’t try this at home”. We are the only company in the country that has the equipment and know how to do this type of work.
