When Ralph Lauren needed to have this early 20th century (Circa 1920) handmade Persian YAZD restored back to life, they turned to Rug Renovating. We have done cleaning, repair and restoration for the Company for many years.
This rug was badly worn, had missing ends, tears and holes and was in desperate need of a really thorough cleaning.
Our in house CRS (Certified Rug Specialist) went to work on removing the dust and dirt from the front and back of the rug. Due to the age and current problems with the rug each process was done by hand.
Cleaning results were really superb. The colors were brought back to life and the rug was now clean, healthy and smelled great! After the cleaning our team of HIGHLY SKILLED CRAFTSPEOPLE preceded to hand sew and reweave all the damaged areas.
They recreated the fringes on both ends and rewove the areas that had wool missing. They redid the sides of the rug and performed flat weaving on the worn areas and tears in the rug.
