Handmade Egyptian Rug With Urine Damage

We had a client bring us a large, very fine handmade Egyptian rug. It was in very bad shape with excessive animal urine stains. The dog was very large and had deposited a great amount of urine in many places all over the rug. In fact, there was so much urine that it soaked all the way through the rug and into the pad. The urine in the rug had also caused the color to run causing discoloration. The rug required several cleanings and the application of odor removal solution as well as specialty cleaning agents that attack and break down the urine. Our chemical engineer spent several weeks working on this rug. He was completely successful in removing all the urine and odor, and he was about 90% successful in removing the discoloration in the face of the rug caused by the urine.

All in all, we were able to return a $20,000 rug almost back to is pre-dog bombardment and abuse!
